This was extraordinary. I learned so much--even where the territory covered seemed familiar, the discussion offered such a greater depth of understanding, starting right off with the beautifully described personal experience of gender dysphoria that really did help me, at least, have a much better idea of what it is like. I also really appreciated the entire framing: to pull this away from ideology and partisanship and center the science. Which is all to say that I am enormously grateful to the two Aarons for their thoughtful intelligence, courage, and persistence and, as always, to Lisa for everything you do--not to mention using your alternate side parking time so brilliantly!

We really need voices like these two thoughtful men speaking up. I'm very discouraged about some of the latest rhetoric coming out against all trans people, particularly by Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles at CPAC. I've continuously watched Genspect leaning toward nonacceptance of any trans people unless it fits their agenda. This is getting really heated and it's easy to confuse respecting good adult trans people and not going along with extremist language now coming from the right.

The left is do extreme too is there a place for nuanced thought and respect for other opinions? It's getting scary out there and I'm thankful that Lisa Selin-Davis and Jesse Singal use their platforms to promote smart trans voices. Does anyone else have this fear? I guess substack is a good place for critical thinkers.

It’s really interesting and educational to here the Aaron’s discuss gender dysphoria and their personal experiences with the docs when they transitioned. Also, the take on WPATH was cray. Wonderful interview and you asked great questions...Lisa Selin Davis.
